Flashing Rx 460 To Rx 560
- After flashing my Gigabyte Rx 460 G 4G, i lost my X16 slot and because i hadn't IGPU i had to buy another GPU card to start Windows. After that, the GPUZ showed a RX 560 card with some missing items.
- The AMD RX 460s could already be unlocked to have 16 CUs, and the RX 560 was a card that offered that stock, rather than forcing a VBIOS flash and driver signature. The RX 560 with 2CUs disabled, then, is not a new graphics card. It is an RX 460. We keep getting requests to test the “new” RX 560 versus the “old” RX 560 with 1024 SPs.
Rx 560 Vs Rx 580
So, we got 2 RX560 bios we can try on a RX460.
Sapphire
The first one is a Sapphire RX560 pulse 4gb with Micron memory.
I recently came accross the new BIOS, released for the RX 460 graphics card. Flashing the card with that BIOS should unlock additional 128 stream processors. I am curious about it and i haven't tried it yet. Have any of you guys? What performance gain would I get by unlocking my RX 460? Is there a chance that flashing a new BIOS would brick my card?
Posible candidates to successful flashing are:
-Sapphire RX460 Nitro 4gb (problem: is dual fan)
-Sapphire RX460 single fan 4gb (problem: lacks power connector)
If someone tries, first make sure via bios that your memory is Micron.
Gigabyte
In this case, we have a Gigabyte Radeon RX 560 Gaming OC 4G bios with Hynix memory
Posible candidates to successful flashing are: Star wars the malevolence.
-Gigabyte RX460 (Windforce) OC 4gb (problem: lacks power connector)
Also make sure your card has Hynix memory.
Will anyone try? :D
